Do You Get Sleepy After You Eat?

Did you ever wonder why, after a good night's sleep, you had a big healthy breakfast and in about 1/2 to 1 hour, you felt sleepy?

Well, it's quite simple: you might have PAD (Peripheral Artery Disease) sometimes called PVD (Peripheral Vascular Disease).

PAD is very common among "smokers". I'm sure we are all aware of the dangers of smoking, and it isn't "cool" anymore to be a smoker, like it was in the 50?s and 60?s. Dad smoked, so it must be OK, eh? Today, with all the publicity about the "dangers of smoking", it's absolutely amazing how many kids start smoking.

Question: "Are they stupid?" Answer: "YES".

OK, I'm a smoker, and I have PAD. It's an effort to do anything physical. I used to ski, snowmobile, ride horses, build things, and there was never a physical task I could not do, more skin opulent. Now, it's an effort to do most anything that takes more than 5 minutes. :(

No, these aren't mine. Other than what I said in the last paragraph, the worst I have is swelling just above my socks when I sit for a long time driving. I must stop every couple of hours and get out of the truck, even if it's only a short walk to the truck stop C store. But this depicts where it's going: and losing a leg isn't one of my favorite thoughts.

But, there is help. I listen to a lot of "talk shows" in my travels. I recently heard one that was on this topic. It was by a doctor who sounded very credible, or maybe I just thought so because he mentioned Dr. OZ, the TV doctor.

Anyway, because of what he said, things are getting much better for me. I don't need a nap after eating, and I can dolly off a trailer in one session, where before, I had to stop and catch my breathe a couple of times doing just that one simple chore. I'm able to run long trips and wake up in the morning feeling good.
